The Cabala in our languages © 2001, J.W. Richter Offered by the author for publication on Boudicca's Bard
Our language did not grow ad-lib. All Indogermanic and even other languages have been built around a cabala, arisen from a single word, the Logos. We will see, how this sacred word contains a common core in all languages.
The ancients taught the, so to speak, auto-generation of the Gods: the one divine essence, unmanifested, perpetually begetting a second-self, manifested, which second-self, androgynous in its nature, gives birth in an immaculate way to everything macro- and micro-cosmical in this universe1.
The Cabala is a formula, in which the divine essence creates the universe with the help of a single word, the second-self. The formula He uses, is called the Logos. The Logos was kept a secret and was not allowed to be spoken in early cultures. It is the Word from the Gospel According to John:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it."
In the Jewish Cabala the creation arises from the divine letter JOD and from the second-self, the word IHVH. The kabalistic book Sepher Jesira describes how everything is built from the alphabet, springing from Jod and from the word IHVH. Yahweh, the biblical God in the holy book Genesis, is an androgyne God. We recognize the male (Greek: andros) and female (Greek: gynae) symbols in the name IHVH, the letter I being the male symbol and the letter V being the female symbol. Some books use the word JehOvah in the same sense with the male symbol Jeh and the female (egg-) symbol Ovah.
In the Cabala all alphabetic letters have been arranged in a hierarchical order. The litterae are to be interpreted as platonic ideas and must be seen as hieroglyphics, influencing our life and educating our offspring. That is the basic idea of the Jewish Cabala, but our own Roman and Greek alphabets seems the be using the same principle. We may recognize some of these symbols in western alphabets:
The Norwegian Tivar, Tiu and Tiusko, the Arian Diu, the Dewa in Sanskrit, the Greek god Theos, the Roman d'Iupiter, the Chaldean Ilu and the IO of the Polynesian Maori all use the same basic idea of an androgyne God. The German people even carries the original name of its God in the tribal name. In the ancients books the Germans are called the "Diutischin liute": “people, who call their God Diu”. Originally the Germans seem to have called their God “Diu”, bridging the name of God from the French "Dieu" and Italian "Dio" to the Norwegian "Tiu".
The global idea of the androgyne divine character, coded in our alphabets corresponds strangely enough to the extraordinary and fascinating theory of a vanished early civilization by Graham Hancock2. The common and global cabala may very well be one of the remnants of this early civilization!
The French word for God reads Dieu. We recognize a relation to the Roman d'IU-piter, an androgyne godfather of an androgyne people. The male/female core of the Jupiter is IU. The Italians changed the name of God to Dio, which may originally have been written d'IO around the androgyne core ‘io’. In Italian language of course we immediately and easily recognize the word ‘io’ for the ego. Obviously the language contains a formula, in which the following passage of the Bible has been coded:
God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them.
The first line uses the singular expression him, whereas the second line uses the plural word them. As God’s image my ego is androgyne. The plural accentuates how any man is created with a male and equally female core. The idea is stored in the Italian words ‘DIO’ and ‘io’, but do we find the idea in other languages as well? In fact we also find the formula in the French word “Djeu” containing the ego “je” in the middle of the word. A comparison leads to the following table for several languages:
Etymology does not explain the origin of the word God, but the word "Ego" correlates with "God". If the word "Ego" has been created before "God", the word "God" may even have been derived from "Ego"! The Arab words aUI and UI indicate the letters I and U as written hieroglyphic, androgyne symbols. The pronunciation does not carry any symbolic information. The Arab language is known to be extremely stable and did not change since the very beginning of the records.
Modern languages use different systems to build their pronouns. We have seen how several languages (Italian, Spanish, Arab) use an androgyne word for the ego. English and Dutch languages however use a separate symbol for the ego and/or its partner. The partner (eg. du) is derived from God’s name (diu) by extracting the ego’s name (i). These languages obviously indicate how far man has drifted away from the divine ideal and must cooperate with his androgyne partner to achieve this ideal. This idea corresponds to the Platonic idea of early man, who originally is born as a (literally) androgyne corpse. The Olympic Gods considered these androgynes to be potentially dangerous and seperated them in men and women. From this time man and woman are searching their lost partners and they rarely find each other.4
In ancient times the character and physical order of colours have been interpreted correctly from the rainbow. Rainbows traditionally have been a religious symbol and a bridge to God. From the extreme edges of the rainbow we may read the antipodes red (female) and blue (male). By mixing these male and female colours we obtain the androgyne symbol colour violet. The small flower violet is called ion in Greek and both names do carry a divine core io. We still use the male colour blue and the female colour rose indicating the character of our new born babies. The Greeks did call themselves Ionic people (the androgyne people) and they described the city of Athens to be "io-stephanos", carrying an androgyne population. We may even interpret the red and blue elements in the flags of the English, American, French and Dutch people as androgyne symbols, joining men and women to a nation.
Ancient societies were aware of the importance of fresh water. Civilization depends on flowing water and major communities all grow at the shores of a large river. Large rivers however are fed by the ice in the glaciers and the rainfall on high mountains. The first civilizations must have considered the rivers, the icecaps and the milky waters from the mountains to be a gift of God or even religious symbols themselves. The words river and ice actually do contain the divine core-elements iv and ic.
In the city of Rome we find the famous Capitoline she-wolf, created by the Etruscan artist Vulca di Veio. The female wolf traditionally is shown to feed two children, and according to the legend these children are the founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus. The Etruscans however had been conquered by the Romans and the Romans had raped their children. An Etruscan artist hardly may have been motivated to depict the enemy's legend in a work of art. Another explanation may be found by interpreting the teats of the female animal as mountains with icecaps, feeding the twins (not shown here):
Capitoline She-Wolf, feeding the rivers Rhine and Rhone
The twins again may be seen as the rivers Rhine and Rhone, differing in the middle of the name by androgyne symbols only. These rivers do have a common source at the northern border of the magnificent Aletsch glacier, flowing in a glacial valey from a chain of high mountains including the Monch and the Jungfrau. The chain of mountains may very well be interpreted like the row of teats in the above fotopgraph. At the northern border of the chain the melting icecap will descend to the Rhine, whereas the southern side of the icecap will find the way to the river Rhone. Clearly these rivers are twins and do share a common mother. Early prospectors (like the famous prospector Ötzi, who was found in another, nearby glacierfield of the same Alps) must have noticed this phenomenon and may have reported the facts to their priests at home.
The Romans ignored the androgyne character of the couple by calling the female Rhone by a male name (Rhodanus) and the male Rhine by a male name (Rhenus), but in unoccupied Germany both rivers managed to preserve the correct male, respectively female character: der Rhein (m) and die Rhone (f). Etymology does not provide in an explanation for the word Alps, but the word may be derived from “aLupa”, to be translated from Latin as: “from the She-Wolf”.
The first letter in God’s early names traditionally is a Theta or "d" and God’s name is written Thios or Dios. The letters th and d are special hieroglyphics. Theta is a letter, symbolizing a perfect divine, androgyne entity, being built from an oval egg-symbol, completed by a horizontal or vertical diagonal line as a male symbol. The traditional male and female letters io are following the first letter to complete God’s name. God did create man and woman in this order according to the Bible and God saw that it was good5. These historical details from the Bible have been coded in the name of God, stating the order of creation (i-o) to be perfect.
The opposite order may be found in the words vile, evil and d’evil (devil), ugly, representing the evil element.
These details of the Genesis have been coded in the divine name and the divine name may be interpreted as a creation-Cabala, indicating man (I) and woman (O), created after God (D).
In English, German and Dutch we find a strong correlation between the words, God, good and gold. A minor correlation is found in French, by comparing the central part of the words Dieu (God) and bien (good). A great number of other words in our modern dictionaries still carries the old idea of qualification by cabalistic ordering of the letters and some are found very easily.
Around 2000 years ago the apocalyptic theories were very popular and a new Cabala was coded by moving the hieroglyphic character D from the beginning of God’s name to the end, indicating an convolution to end into a joining phase with God:
The names Dio and Iod indicate the same God, but the direction of evolution has been reversed. The old names Theos, Dios, Deus, Dieu symbolize a creation from God, whereas the new names God indicate a creation towards God.
Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians,13:12 reads in the Lutheran bible:
For now we see in a mirror, inside of a dark word, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
The World English Bible6 however interprets inside of a dark word somewhat different and translates into “dimly”, but the original Lutheran bible may be more exact.
Androgyne persons, coded io, mirror themselves in the perfect symbol D in God’s name Dio/Dios or God. St. Paul is known to have been initiated and must have known the basic idea of the code in God’s name. The following sketch demonstrates the mirror in Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians:
The cabala in our languages may also have an impact on other theories, eg. the theory explaining Egyptian pyramids. Certainly the river Nile has been the most important element in the Egyptian civilization. Manipulation of sources or knowledge about the sources of the river must have been extremely important to the Egyptians at any time. Extrapolating from the Etruscan she-wolf, symbolizing the sources of the major European rivers Rhine and Rhone, we maybe have to revise the interpretation of the Giza pyramids. The Great Pyramids of Khufu and Khafre and the minor neighbor pyramid of Menkaure may be interpreted as the symbolic sources of the Nile. In 500 B.C. Herodot mentions ancient Egyptian records, describing the river flowing out of melting snow. An ancient map from Ptolemy (150 A.D.) locates the two Nile's major sources in the ice-covered Lunar Mountains in Ethiopia. A third, minor influx is drawn to feed the lower Nile. Early prospectors like the Greek salesman Diogenes are known to have reported the mountains while travelling along an old merchant road and Egyptian prospectors must have observed the same details centuries before them. The three Giza Pyramids might symbolize these sources, sized according to the contribution of the rivers. The Blue Nile, contributing the major part of the flood wave and the White Nile contributing an almost equally important part of constant flow are know to join their flows at the city of Khartoum. The minor Atbara river only contributes a small portion of the Nile's flooding wave, but its contribution did arrive as a first and most important announcement of the flood. The BenBen-stone on top of the pyramids could have represented the snow-coverage of the peak, as the divine seed for the fertility-spending Nile, whereas the channels and other technical installations of the pyramids may be thought to be waterways and sluices for a fertility-spending ceremony.
Early philosophers and priests have coded a common Cabala (“Revelation”) into our languages. Just like the Jewish Cabala the system has been built around the core element Jota, the tenth and smallest letter of the Jewish and Roman alphabet. Elementary word-fragments describe anything in creation as good, evil or neutral. Hieroglyphic symbols are the male elements i, j, l and g, respectively female elements o, u, v, c and n. In a good item the male letters will be written first, followed by the female elements. In evil elements the order will be reversed.
Certainly the Cabala in languages has been designed as an educational tool and as a vehicle to transport the religious ideas of creation, God, good and evil.
Although our languages have been changed permanently for centuries, the androgyne character of important definitions has been preserved remarkably well and unveils a common core in all languages and religions, indicating a common, early civilization, almost completely lost in our memories.
