Dictionary
Wicca
Alchemy: n.a medieval chemical art whose principal objectives were to find the panacea, and to transmute base metals into gold./ The power to transform something base into something precious.
Alchemy: The forerunner of chemistry, originating in Alexandria during the 1st century CE, when Egyptian metallurgy was fused with Greek philosophy and middle easter mystiasm. Stated goals were the transmutation of base metals into a gold and the discovery of the Pholosopher's Stone. These are regarded as metaphors for personal enlightenment.
Amulet: n. an ornament or gem worn on the body as a protection against evil spirits.
Amulet: An object charged with power for protection, health, etc. They are usually found and are natural objects or gifts.
Angel: n. a messenger of God. a member of the lowest order in the celestial hierarchy, classified by Dionysius the Areopagite as: seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities, archangles, angles./ a person of exceptional goodness or loveliness./ (theater pop) the financial backer of a theatrical production./ radar echo from an invisible target./ an English gold coin, stamped with a figure of St. Michael and worth varving sums.
Angel: The cabbalistic archangels that guard and watch over the four quarters./ divine messenger.

Astrology: n. the art of predicting or determing the influence of the planets and stars on human affairs.

Athame: A consecrated ceremonial knife used by witches and magicians; usually black-hilted. It is never used for drawing blood. It is used to focus and direct energies.
Aura: n. the atmosphere of a

Coven: a group of 3 or more witches who practice wicca./ witchcraft on sabbats and Esbats. / traditional number of witches are 13, one of them being the High-Priestess and the other 12 consisting of an equal number of men and women.

Cowan: a person uninvolved in Wicca/Witchcraft./ in a church or temple setting those who have not been dedicated // neophyted/ initiated into that group./ some one who attends rituals (ie as a guest) and is not involved regularly.

Sabbat: Witches' sabbat: a midnight assembly of witches, at wich the powers of evil are supposed to be present, when black rites are celebrated and orgies held.
Sabbat: the festivals where witches celebrate the solar phases of the year / eight important times of the year when witches gather to celebrate the turning of seasons and the fertility times in the year.

Undine: n. a female water sprite who, according to some legends could acquire a soul if she married a mortal and had a child.

Undine: the elemental supernatural being that lives in the water and is attributed to be the spirits of the West and is the representative of the element water.
Virtue: n. a quality held to be of great moral value/ moral exellence, goodness/ female chastity/ of a remedy / power to do good/ (pt) an order of angels.
Virtue: the quality to uphold ones given word/ promise/ oath/ to be an upstanding individual.
Warlock: n. a man who practices witchcraft sorcery etc. / traitor, enemy, devil.

Warlock: a man or a woman witch who has forsaken his/her oaths in Wicca/witchcraft.
White magic: magic used in the service of good.
White magic: magic in the bounds of 'An it harm none do what you will/magic that doesn't try to override a person will/ magic to produce positive result.
